    Basic Performance of Flux Cored Welding Wire


    Structure and Composition


    Flux cored welding wire consists of a metallic outer shell and an inner core. The outer shell is mostly made of low-carbon steel strip, while the core contains various components such as arc stabilizers, slag formers, deoxidizers, and alloying agents.


    Welding Process Performance


    The arc stability of flux cored welding wire is excellent. The arc stabilizers in the core facilitate a smooth welding process, reducing spatter and arc interruptions. The weld seam has an attractive appearance, and the slag formers create a slag that protects the weld metal, resulting in a smooth and flat surface. It also increases welding speed, making it suitable for welding in various positions.


    Mechanical Properties


    The alloying agents in the core can transfer alloying elements to the weld seam, enhancing weld strength, toughness, and crack resistance. Deoxidizers and other components can remove impurities, reducing the occurrence of cracks. The slag covering also helps prevent cracking.


    Cost and Usage


    While the price of flux cored welding wire is relatively high, its high deposition efficiency and fast welding speed can lower overall costs. However, the storage and use of flux cored welding wire require moisture-proof measures, and the wire feeding system must be adjusted according to the characteristics of the wire to ensure smooth feeding.
